    Hey, about 25 years ago a large woman tried to drive Taylor Pass between Aspen and Taylor Park. On the Gunnison side she got stuck in the rocky area near water.

    She just sat in the car and died. It was before the fall snow, and she could have
    walked maybe 4 miles to a gravel county road with daily traffic.

    Watched as a few local VFD's do some training on water rescue. They put a guy in a car and dunked it into a local lake with a crane. 2/3 of the guys could not get the door open due to the differences in the pressure between the water and the air trapped inside of the car.

    Rushing water pushing against the door along with a lot panic could have made it impossible for them to get out.
