What has happened to the traditional family??

It has finally happened and I am disgusted and may have to move out of Canada.
Gays and Lesbians can now get a marriage license in Ontario, be married in a church, adopt kids, go on their partners health plan from work, get spousal death benefits an on and on. As long as I live two men or two women will never be a family in my eyes, no matter what the gov't says. I don't think it's healthy for children to be raised by gays or lesbians and it doesn't promote true family values. I think all it does is confuse kids and set them up for nothing but a life of harassment and alienation. A family is a Mother, Father, and Kids, not Father, Father, and Kids.
I don't really care what goes on behind closed doors but now it's out in the open and I will fight this all I can to get these laws reversed.
This is wrong to include Gay and Lesbian unions as a family unit. This is not a family it is a terrible tragedy and a huge step backwards for society as a whole. It just boggles my mind that this is the way of the future. Am I wrong in my thinking?

    I hear and agree with you 100% Its something that society has excepted,maybe not agreed with but 25yrs ago if a same sex couple were caught in Public it would have been a crying shame for that couple.I dont except the expression(times have changed)

    Many states have laws which prohibit many of the "acts" which these folks engage in......none of which are enforced. Think we could talk them into not enforcing their gun laws just because we come right out and say we can't obey them.....against our conscience? Highly Doubtful we would get anywhere.......but these folks do! Something could be slightly wrong here!

    Even in a game of Baseball its nice to know "who's pitchin' and who's catching." With these folks, don't matter who's who. Seems to me if it's against the law, the law should be enforced.....or changed, but not ignored!

    I think gays and lesbians have every right to marry if they like.
    It doesn't matter if we don't like it, that's their business.
    However, we don't have to accept it, condone it, watch it or hear about it.

    Like muley said, the anatomy says it all. Parts is parts and they just DO NOT FIT. Raising children in this environment and teaching them that this behavior is all right, is morally (and should be legally) wrong.Some people will argue that there is a physical condition. The physical condition is called a malfunction of the brain and soul. Nothing that an, electric chair, guillotine, gas chamber, lethal injection, bullet in the head, (place your own brand of poison here) would not fix. Think that is a little harsh? Maybe, maybe not, the gene pool needs some chlorine!!!In Colorado a few years ago a question of gay something was placed on the ballot. It was VOTED DOWN. The government did not like that turn of events, and blatantly enacted it against the voters wishes. Kinda makes you wonder, why bother to vote.(P.S. I do still vote)

    Hey Merc Yes I do know My brother-in-law,and his husband Don. Do I ever agree with his choices No! I would no sooner leta child be raised by them than to let my 13 year old daughter go out of the house in tiny clothes to go where ever with who ever. I dont want my kids to think aunt bill and uncle don are right. The problem is how do you explain that it is ok to change the rules when it suits your perverse desires. how do you continue a relationship that is against normal function, when is it ok to break rules? can I speed or rape or steal because I want it that way. "Aunt bill" went thruogh hell growing up. Kids know [feel inside] when something is strange. Any six yearold can tell you a peg goes in a hole and any child can tell you no one wants poop on Any part of thier body! So why do some men and women want to go against God, why do people want to rewrite the bible and take out the stuff they dont like? Sin is Sin and soddom and gamorha were real and God is love but he will disipline what is wrong. when you try to tell kids a lie they nolonger respect you and I have no respect for "them" I am amazed that they are so brazen Satin is in this world and he is laughing in his shirtails at our gullableness and that he is cheating us out of normal loving relationships. wake up and smell the brimstone

    I wrote about this in an open letter in our local paper last year. I quote, "America put God in the Closet and let the queers out." Some liberal do gooder who claims she's a folklorist went off like a fat woman stuffed with refried beans. She turned the air blue with her verbal attack on me and it went on for five months. Some so called preachers even jumped on the bandwagon with her. It is wrong, sin, and and an abomination. It is not as she and others who hold themselves high on a pedestal because they've been educated in an ultra liberal university, an alternate life style (which is simply a politically correct term for ultra perverted lifestyle).

    Merc, my cousin. She and someone else with the same plumbing have a child. My cousin was artificially impregnated. The kid is really messed up. How does she celebrate fathers day when all the other kids talk about their daddy's and what they're going to do? How does she relate to a father's love. Don't tell me grandpa or uncle can
    take dad's place. I love my uncles dearly but none take my dad's place. The girl is old enough to ask questions. She nor even my cousin knows the donor. Quite simply she fits the definition of a *. That's what she would have been called 15 years ago. And just because someone might call her that today doesn't mean they are not politically correct. It simply means our perverted society is trying it's hardest as the Bible says to accept good for evil and evil for good.

    Sucking on same sex faces is no different than an adulter, fornicator, or child molester. It's all sin and that's what's happened to the traditional family in America. I am glad to see you guys feel the same way toward these perverts. They need to be shamed back into the closet.

    Times have most certainly changed...these type of people have made the majority of society feel for them and accept their ways. They are partaking in a sick way of life that is far from acceptable. I refuse to give these people the benefit of the doubt about their chosen lifestyle...

    The government always worrying about issues like same sex marriages and gays in the millitary and other bleeding heart liberal agenda, WE Americans that still live a normal life will end up in the minority before long...

    I may be chastized for being close minded, but thats my 2 cents

    The traditional family is my Mom & Dad, married 53 years. The "nuclear" family had its heyday in the 50s. The 60s brought the pill, and women's lib. The traditional family went down in flames as divorce became more and more acceptable to the partners. 50% of kids now live in single-parent homes, and most marriages do not last a lifetime. All of this had to happen BEFORE gay-lesbian relationships could begin to become acceptable. You'd have to rewind pretty far back to resurrect the traditional family. I'm 52, divorced for 25 years, no kids, living alone with my dog. I'm not a traditional family either, but my dog is more loyal than many women I've known, who have made a virtue out of standing on their own two feet so well that they've forgotten how to partner in a complementary way. I'm not blaming, I'm just saying it is now normal, perhaps even traditional, to be dysfunctional. Healthy is unusual.

    I don't condone a gay or lesbian lifestyle in any way, however, Bible quotes also include "Judge not lest you be judged." and "Let whoever is without sin, cast the first stone.".. I ain't the judge. There are bigger things to worry about right now than who is doing who, especially when our own government is doing all of us daily. MTV is to blame? Please!!!! What did you listen to if you were ever young, and did your parents like it?

    Our favorite gal, "Rosie O" had a show on Nickelodeon (the kiddie channel) a few weeks ago entitled "My family is different".
    It was about homos raising kids and such. The libs think that if they can re-educate the next generation (our children) into thinking that the homo lifestyle is the norm, then it will be more widely accepted.
    Sadly, if we don't speak out against what we think is wrong, they're idea will probably work.
    It's the same old liberal tactic of flooding society with garbage until people start to believe it or at least accept it.
    That's what they've done with the whole idea of gun control. We know, that as a social experiment/crime deterrant, gun control has failed miserably. It does not reduce any crimes. In fact, it has created more victims.
    In time we will see the same thing with the homo aggenda.

    Have you seen MTV lately? It's not the MTV I grew up watching. Back then it was actually about music. Now it seems like half the shows on it have at least one homosexual character. My point was that the more it's on mainstream media, the more it becomes accepted.

    When they were satisfied to keep their behavior behind closed doors, I was willing to close my eyes to it, look the other way, and let peace rein. At that point it is/was none of my buisness. Now since they have decided to THROW it in my face, SHOVE it down my throat, and DEMAND that I accept it, and then FORCE it to be legal, (so they can "CLAIM" it to be moral?). And then teach children (children that are being raped and murdered, by some kind of perverted person) that this behavior is acceptable??? That is when I DO HAVE A PROBLEM with them. Children are our future as well as our heritage. I do not believe that these people have any more right to force us to accept their beliefs, than "one man" has the right to change our pledge because of "under god"!Imagine if you can, those children, and what they will have to go through, when the questions that will inevitably come from other children about their parents. I am sure that most of us can attest to the fact that "some" kids (can) be quite cruel. What can these kids possibly say that will keep "those kind of kids" from completely humiliating, demoralizing, and/or beating them to a bloody pulp.By no means do I claim sinlessness, but then, I did not cast the first stone. I did not start shoving my sexual preferences down their throat. The bible has many contradictions, sayings, and different interpretations, so that you can defend a lot of arguments, both pro or con. Example; "vengeance is mine" followed by "an eye for an eye" I will not get into quoting scripture with anyone, but you know, as well as I, that the bible says, and in your heart and soul, that this is a SIN.Denis Leary says that he has no problem with kids killing themselves ??? And people agree with this ??? Ideals and morals are changing, but not for the better.No offense to anyone with a different opinion, this is just mine.

    I've got a neighbor that's a Lesbeon. She has two adopted children a 13 yr boy and an 8 yr girl. Now I'm a God fearing believer and my wife and I have always been there to help her, she's been a single mom for the last three yrs. and likewise her for us baby sitting our infant and helping out. her ex mate has visitation rites and show's up every two weeks with her new mate. My neighbor has had someone sleeping over quite frequently latley. I've never been able to judge or condem her lifestyle who am I to judge, we just try to be a godly example. The other day there was five gay women over there ex's and mates and freinds. Now i said all this to say this , what do these kid's do to find a moral standard? My neighbor met her latest in her church. The oldest boy is out of control and has no respect at all for authority, the ex won't allow the rod of correction so what do you do. an incident happened with the boy groping my 11 yr too developed for her age daughter. after the scolding and reprimanding was over the neighbor asked my wife to ask me if I could have a man to man talk with him. Well I didn't have it in me to tell him of my biblical standards with his parent figures in gross sin. It is a terrible thing to subject these children to such perversion. The kids in school found out about his parent's and tormented him to no end. what will these kids grow up to be? God have Mercy on us all. And to throw in some robotic quote from the bible " Let the Wheat and the tares grow together till the end, then gather the wheat into my barn and throw the tares into the fire to be burned " "Narrow is the gate that leads to life and very few find it"

    barto, I think you're on an interesting track. I wasn't thinking about "Adam and Fido" marriages, but what about polygamy? If two women or two men can get married, why not one man and two women or one woman and two men? Or a "group marriage" hippie (or cult) style? The sky's the limit.

    The so-called traditional family of Dad, Mom, and kids from that union all living together is now in the minority.

    Here is my group: There is me, of course. Then there is my wife. It took me three tries to find a keeper. (Or one that would keep me) When I got her, I got her son also. He was quite young at the time, and he knows me as Dad. His father is not in the picture much.

    Now, I had two sons with my second wife. They live with me, or did until the eldest moved out on his own.

    Add to the mix my wife's niece and that is our family. She is the daughter of my wife'e brother and she has lived with us since she was 13.

    Not yours, mine and ours, but yours, mine, and his.

    Sometimes we just have to do the best we can with what we have to work with.
