How may weapons does your state allow you to carry with your CCW? What are your restrictions with your CCW?

Some one metioned 1 gun before and that they where not allowed to carry on Sundays?

If you will blame gun makers for every shooting then blame car maker for every car accident.

In Michigan a CPL holder may carry as many concealed pistols as he wants, there is no limit.

Indiana has no limit. People come in for permits and asked if we want serial numbers. I tell them to keep them to themselves and only give out serial numbers if the gun's lost or stolen. I remember an old western comedy where Jack Eli(?)(think that's his last name he had a bad eye) starting taking off his guns. He had everything a cowboy could want and then some. We've others here in the Hoosier state that emulate him in that movie. I think it's great.

In Virginia it is a Concealed Handgun Permit. Does not cover any other weapons, but no restriction on the number you can carry.

In Alaska you can carry as many as you want as long as none of them are a derringer or over the caliber that you are qualified for in either revolver or semi-auto. Now I have to go and requalify so that I can carry up to a .50 in semi-auto and a revolver in .475.

In Indiana, I'm qualified to carry anything, because I'm an American. That's a pretty fair deal.

I like the sound of Arizona, though. Full auto, huh?

Im from the Hoosier State also and there is no limit..but you get some that no matter what or where they are..they gotta show they have one...Saw one guy one day walking down the isles of WallyWorld..wearing an exposed shoulder holster..Nothing like inviting trouble...thats what I refer to as a gun on the street without a brain...but.."only the shadow knows"

Aglore, why can't you carry a derringer. I have a Hi-Standard .22 mag that just slips into the front pocket of my baggy pants so nice.

I had a NY CCW when I lived in Jefferson County. It took just as long to get a CCW as it did to get a permit to *OWN*. Yes, I said *OWN*--not purchase. So I waited out the 18 months for my CCW. This is where it gets strange. NY tries to make it so hard for you to be able to own a handgun. Your pistols are listed by make/model/ser# on your permit along with your address. Only you may possess or have control of them and all of this information is stored at County. It's essentially a back-door registration scheme. You would think, judging from all this hassle, that they didn't want you to own a gun. However, I was told to list "personal protection" as one of my justifications for the CCW and was also told that it was viewed favorably if I was a member of the NRA and one of the local sportsmen's clubs. These anti-gun NUTS wanted me to be a member of the NRA!!! Talk about hypocracy! Then it gets even better. BEFORE they would hand me my permit, I had to already have a gun on layaway at a gun store waiting to be listed on the permit. I had to go and pick out a gun, pay for it and bring the receipt with the gun's information to the Sheriff's office and have it listed on the permit before they would give me the stinking piece of paper. Talk about WEIRD.

in texas you may carry as many as you can conceal.
the only restrictions are wither or not it is a revolver or a semi-automatic.
if you test with a semi-auto you may carry either

Yup, I seen pictures of a custom rig that Bobby at my gunstore made for a guy to carry two compact .45's for CCW. Here in Texas.

Personally I think three is a good number to have on person, and at least two in the trunk. Got to have a full size, a compact or subcompact, and a pocket pistol at all times.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

In wild wonderful West Virginia as long as you have a ccw, you can carry as many as you can conceal. And if you don't have a ccw you can still carry as long as its in plain sight. I've never seen anyone do that, but I hear its common in the southern part of state. The county I live in leads the state in ccw permits. And come to think of it we have one of the lowest crime rates in state. I wonder why?

    Dyer_Maker,

Open Carry is allowed in VA as well. I used to do it. I just recently got my CHP. I have seen people carry in sholder holsters in the open as well as on their hip in the open. It does not cause alot of problems it is just that alot of people will think you are a LEO

If you will blame gun makers for every shooting then blame car maker for every car accident.

WA Concealed Carry Permit allows you to carry any pistol, revolver, top break or auto, as well as any number. Rifles and other long guns must be unloaded inside of a vehicle, the exception is a muzzle loader, and that must either have no powder in the pan, or no cap on the nipple. I also know for a fact that Idaho reciprocates with WA and both accept each other's CWP/CCP.

There was once a link posted showing what states accept other states CCP/CWP's, does anyone remember what that was????

Kansas has no provision for up-standing law-abiding citizens to carry concealed ... if you do, you are no longer a up-standing law-abiding citizen; you are a criminal.

Now with that said, you can carry as many as you want ... as long as you don't go off your own property ...

I know this is petty but please refrain from calling firearms "WEAPONS",that is a Brady Bunch term, thanks.I myself only can stand carrying one firearm for CCW,my Glock 27 .40SW.When I was younger I would usually carry a back up ,small caliber pistol or revolver in an ankle rig with my main carry arm being a 1911 in .45 acp.Back then I was either in the family shop or in the immediate area which is a city.Today I don't have the patience, the will nor the need to carry a backup piece and have even sized down from my 1911 to the Glock 27 with one spare mag of course.Toward the end of my 1911 days I found myself leaving it at home more than not,it was getting heavy I guess and I found my back bothering me .Then a neighbor at the end of our road was robbed. This event reaffirmed my conviction to carry thus the reason for the downsizing.I hardly know it is there.

In Texas, there are two classifications of the CHL. The SA license will allow the bearer to carry a semi-auto pistol or any other type of handgun. The NSA license limits the carry to a non-semi-auto only. As long as you abide by those restrictions, you can carry as many as you can hide. When you test, you have to qualify with a gun of at least .32 caliber, but after you are licensed, you can carry a smaller caliber if you want to.
