Anyone know secrets to Lexmark printer?

Had this Z52 for years and it always worked great. Then suddenly I found it had a sheet of paper half way through feed and the green light just keeps blinking.

Unplugged it for two days and when I plugged it back in it worked fine and printed a page for me. Then I moved it 6 inches on the desk top and it started blinking again.

Bad connection somewhere? Any ideas? Buttons do nothing and light keeps blinking. Tried trouble shooting on computer with no results. Lexmark help takes days to reply and I tried "strumming" the plastic strip as they suggested. Nada.

    Not the same model #.
Bought a new one at Wal-Mart for $29, included 2 sets of cartridges.
Cheaper to buy a new printer than replacement cartridges.

Fixing a printer is like taking your Bic lighter to be repaired.

By the time they hit the marketplace, they are already obsolete, they plan it that way, so when it breaks (not "if"), you can shuck out some dosh and get something better that what it replaces.

    Sound advice.

The last Lexmark I owned was a fairly expensive laser printer that I got off eBay. It never once successfully printed a page. Its main problem was that it refused to believe that any paper I gave it was 8.5x11 letter, but rather it thought (despite every setting being checked and every part being cleaned) that every sheet of paper in existence was "executive" size paper.

I bought a replacement (a cheap Samsung laser printer) and put the Lexmark into the dumpster where it belonged.

Moral of the story (and secret of the Lexmark printer): Never buy Lexmark.

Well, I've had this one for 5 years and it's been great. If I could get another one just like it I would. I guess I will shop for a new one.

Bouth one 2 weeks ago from walmart because I needed a fax machine included with the printer. Ink cart's were expensive. I unpacked it and set it up. It never would quit blinking. Brought it back the same day and bought a HP. Lexmark, the biggest piece of crap I ever owned. Hp, works better and the ink is alot cheaper. The lexmark was cheaper. I learned another lesson about buying the cheapest. You get what you pay for.

Ink Jet printers are like the Gilette shavers. The shavers they give away for free (or at low cost). . .the money is made selling you the razor cartridges.

With printers, the printer is cheap. . .sold nearly at cost. Its the ink cartridge that makes all the money.

Lexmarks' world headquaters is located here in Lexington, KY!

THEY SENT ALL THIER MANUFACTURING JOBS SOUTH OF THE BORDER!!

I suggest wiping your crack with the loading plate of your printer and mailing to them!

I have one that worked great for a couple years then it quit feeding paper. I messed around with it for quite awhile before finding the problem. A beer bottle top had found it's way into the top feed opening and was jamming up the works. It's been fine, urp, since then. [B)][:I]

Hey, Frank, the secret to the Lexmark printer is that it is a throwaway, but I think the other guys have said so. I have owned four of them. They are cheap. It costs more to replace ink than it does to buy a new printer. Mine ran fine for about a year or so, and then gave problems such as you describe.

So, we bought an Epson photo-quality printer and it is nice. My mom still has a Lexmark, but she hardly uses it.
