Thank You From The McIntyre Family

Many of you responded to a great need in the McIntyre family when their young son, Derek, was killed in a car wreck. Derek's father, Bill, is my cousin, and we have always been very close.
It was heartwarming to hear of the response from the Gunbroker members. Right after the funeral, I was at the house, and Brenda brought in the mail. It was from all over. She said, "I don't know where all this mail is coming from."
I determined that this board is populated by some of the best people on earth.
She finally got through all the mail, and figured it out. She sent me this message to be posted here. It follows in its entirety:
Dear David and family,
We would like for you to post a thank you note for us.
We greatly appreciate the sympathy and prayers for us during our greatest hours of need. There were many unexpected expenses that we never thought of. Several of your friends sent us cash and I wanted to let them know how much we appreciated it. Each gift came at a time when we were told of another expense. Our hope is that everyone who sent money knows how much we appreciated it. Derek would give me his check every week. He would just sign the back and give it to me. I know every mother thinks her child is special, but Derek was a friend to everyone. He was a tenderhearted person that would do anything for anyone. He lived Hebrews 13:2, "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." We miss him very much.
Best regards
Brenda, Bill and John David
