I have a friend who is an FFL dealer and owns a couple. He was trying to sell me one for a while, yes, $3,000 or more, depending if you want pre-ban or post-ban. Mags are also over $120.00 each. They are beautiful to look at. They are very accurate. They are also finicky eaters. If you were going to wage a war from the turret of a castle they would be great. A practical battle rifle, they are not.[This message has been edited by boeboe (edited 01-18-2002).]

The SR-25 Match rifles are a sniper grade weapon designed for and guarenteed to have sub MOA out of the box using using Federal Gold Match 168 grain HPBT ammo and they do it very well. Actually I have mine on the GB auction block at: http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=2905223 I've had people ask the same question about jamming with ball ammo and I just ask them Why would you want to shoot cheap ball ammo from a high end match rifle? If accuracy is not your goal, spend less and buy an Armalite AR-10. As with the .223 AR-15 counter-part, tighter tollerances equal tighter groups, thus they are gummed up more easily with un-burned powder ... this is not a problem with the reccomended ammo in the Stoner. Not to knock Armalite, but their preformance is not as constiant as the Stoner ... my AR-10T wouldn't shoot under 1.5" @ 100 yds, needless to say I didn't keep it long, I have heard others with the same results and some with better.
