I've been shopping for a high quality pistol caliber carbine and have seen these in different magazines.I just about bought the HK UMC in .45 but the $1100 was just too hard to part with.If anyone can give me a review on the Feather carbines I sure would be thankfull,JOSEY http://featherusa.com/ [This message has been edited by Josey1 (edited 02-19-2002).]

Josey,I can't give you any opinion on the Feather, but when you brought this topic up before I suggested the Ruger PC9 or PC4.Although, with what you're mentioning here I'm suspecting that you're looking for one of those "evil" assault-type looking carbines--or maybe you just want the extra safety you get with a good secure pistol-grip stock!

I have owned the Feather .22 and the 9mm. They both functiond very well. I really liked the way they broke down and stored. My 2 CentsPSYou can get conversions for the Ruger PC 9 and PC 40 to use other than Ruger mags. The Old Marlin Camp 9 has conversion units also.[This message has been edited by gap1916 (edited 02-19-2002).]

Anyone know why Ruger doesn't make the PC in .45acp?Also, what does "PC" stand for? I assume the "C" stands for Carbine.

simonbs,I suspect they will be making the Police Carbine in 45 acp within a few years. They don't have too much "excess capacity" at their factories and only introduce a few new models each year.As a shareholder, this is one of my complaints--I think they could expand the whole business by expanding their product lines, but they run things in and extremely conservative fashion and just are not very aggressive in pursuing new products.elmos608,I see you're asking on the "Police Carbine"--yes, that is what the "PC" stands for.[This message has been edited by competentone (edited 02-19-2002).]

The USC is great, accurate, very little recoil and with the long barrel hearing protection isn't needed ... with the plastic material its made of you can dye it any color you want for about $20 ... solid black, camo brown, green or combo ... heck you could even make it pink if you wanted ... used you can pick them up for $800-$900

Comp.,yes I looked into the PC 40,it was a demo gun at a local range.I did like it though I do want that "Evil rifle" look, but not only the look I also want to be able to install a flashlight/laser combo.Kimber,Where can I get one for $800?Everything I see are $1100 and over. Also what is the magazine situation with the USC?Are there any high caps available? Thanks again to all who took the time to reply,I do appretiate it,JOSEY.

Josey1,I've seen them on GunBroker & HK-91.com both, in Used/excellent condition for $800, new however they are about $1100. As for Hi-Caps I don't think there is anything already in existance without some type of conversion. Special Weapons was going to develop something like they did with the SL8 to accept AR-15 mags, but not sure it is still going to happen or not.
