For the last 2 days my computer seems to get stuck when downloading pages, and pages dont seem to load completely. Usually there will be Icons & buttons missing, sometimes pictures wont load ect. I will say something like "(7items remaining) Downloading picture" and whatever the web address is.Whatever it is is only on my laptop, my older desktop puter is fine (same ISP). I tried dialing up my dad's ISP and have the same problem ... but only on my laptop??? Any help from the 'puter experts!Oh yeah, to keep this thread gun related, I like Kimbers!**Edit** I've let it sit on a web page for over an hour, it never finishes loading that page once it stops.

I came home this evening and turned on my laptop and it's like it has returned to day 1. My desktop pic is gone, all my desktop icons I had are no longer. I go to "all programs" and I can't even access Internet Explorer. WTH!!!

Anybody have any ideas??? Thank goodness for my I-phone, but I can't post on the boards from here forever.

When was the last time you defragged, or cleaned orphan/duplicate files, or run a virus scan? How full is the hard drive? How big is the memory?

I have that problem every once in a while when I look at tons of pages in a short period of time. The way I have fixed it is cleaning out all of the temp files, cookies, etc...After a restart everything is back to normal. Your computer should get rid of this stuff by itself after a period of time, but sometimes they have a brain fart and forget to do it so it might need a little help from you.

I did a disc scan, disc cleanup (dumped my temporary internet & download files) & defrag yesterday as well as virus update scan with no problems found anywhere. The hard drive is 6 gig with only 1.7 gig used.

Kimberkid: Are you using IE or Netscape? What version (click Help / About on the browser menus)? Have you tried clearing the browser cache?

Get Norton,PC wall ,and anty-cookie utilitya G force 2 video card 256 megs of memory anda 40 meg hard disk (a Pentium IV 900mhz)at least, and all your problems will be solved.. Most Laptops are pure JUNK get a PC compatible main board with AGP video slot and many extra pci and isa ones a good case a good keyboard, modem, sound card (Soundblaster) ,video card and a 1280x1024 pixel monitor and a good CDRW drive. The laptop fun ends with the need for an UPGRADE .....and POWER,,,,
Good , Bad ? Who cares? as long I am the one with the GUN..

I'm using IE version 5.1 I beleive, when I pull it up under Help/About Internet Explorer, it says: Version: (nothing there) Chyper Strength nothing there) Product ID nothing there) Is my browser cache the same thing as the Tempory internet files? If so I've cleared them too.If it makes any difference its a Compaq Presario 1200 with Windows 98 Second Edition
