...Absolutely no hope for these poor bleeners...[^]
...A Southern California high school has crowned its first male prom queen, the Los Angeles Times reports. Sergio Garcia, 18 and gay, says he began his campaign as a joke. To his surprise, the stunt led to a serious discussion of gay rights and gender roles. "I will be wearing a suit," Garcia told fellow Fairfax High students of his prom attire, "but don't be fooled. Deep down inside, I am a queen!" [:0]
Garcia apparently swayed the student body during a speech. "At one time, prom may have been a big popularity contest where the best-looking guy or girl were crowned king and queen," he said. "Things have changed and it's no longer just about who has the most friends or who wears the coolest clothes. Sure, I'm not your typical prom queen candidate. There's more to me than meets the eye."
...I bet there is!

If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!
Yep, only in CA!!! [xx(]
Wish we could keep it there ![}:)]
Thats horrible, bet those girls felt ugly, enough to have a guy beat them out anyway.
being Cali "valley girls" they probably deserved the slap in the face though [;)]
"like, this is, like, totally horrible; I will like totally develop an eating disorder, like totally" [:D]
personally I don't think a gay man should be able to run for prom queen, being biologically male after all...but I just find the whole situation humorous...especially the thought of some uptight Cali bleach-blondes crying themselves to sleep over losing to a guy [:D]
lol...so in the big picture: stupid high school traditions only got a LITTLE BIT weirder...
True enough. Anyone getting their panties in a wad over an inane HS popularity contest needs to remember what it was like to be in high school.
And if the movement for gay civil liberties wants to triumph this as some great achievement, then, ...really...?
How do you think Obama got elected?
"diversity is one of the great lessons this school can teach" [V]
Greatest achievement: Prom Queen.
No military in his future with the Don't tell policy.
