I think having a 460XRV in a rifle/carbine would sell alot, it would also increase power and range, do you think it would catch on. You could also do it in 500S&W.

I have concluded that I don't need the biggest badest gun on the planet. Like the S&W 500, The XVR 460, or a model 88 Winny rechambered/rebarreled to .358 Win. My 50DEP was my teacher.
Shooting should be fun, not painful

If I'm not mistaken I think rossi of brazil makes a long gun in 500 S&W. Although I do believe its a single shot.

I think also the contender series would be another choice to look for in 500S&W and .460 like the rossi rifle, but I'm not sure on that one.

to do so, the makers would be getting into "relativity"- that is, a cartridge that is humongous in a handgun reputed to kill the largest, most dangerous game by simply sending a photograph of it to the animal, when compared to rifle cartridges is just a medium sized cartridge. Recall the articles where some writer has gone to Africa with a handgun chambered for something ballistically similar to a 45/70, and killed all sorts of game with one shot each. then the next article will be about how inadequate the 458 Win Mag is, leaving a trail of wounded animals that would have certainly been killed if the hunter had used the less powerful handgun.[:)]

I've got a 21" Match Grade Machine barrel in 500 S&W for my Encore and am buying a 20" T/C Encore barrel in 460 S&W. It's great to have a rifle/revolver combo that shoot the same cartridge.
