Barrels and stuff..

With all the uses the gun makers have found for "titanuim", why don't they use it for gun barrels. Is it too light, too hard, unstable? Maybe it would be near impossible to cut the rifling? Seems to me it would be ideal for heavy barrel uses.

I seem to recall someone making a rifle all out of Titanium....not sure if the barrel was sleeved or not....but the price was several thousand dollars....McMillian maybe?

If everything else but the barrel was titanium it would be several thousand dollars!! I've had a couple of Forbes' rifles in my hands but am not sure if the barrels were titanium! They were unbelievibly light to hold! f I get to the point where I'm not able to carry a 7lb rifle (without scope) all day I'll quit hunting!! Allen, Sarah says the 260 is not as bad as her 20guage!! We looked for a groundhog tonite but none were there to cooperate. I'll send pictures with the pistol if she has one by the time your FFL gets here! GHD

Charlie that's cool. You find a .5" or smaller load for it yet? Store here in town had several boxes of 7mmBR on the shelf a couple of months ago that was ordered by mistake a couple of years ago. Wouldn't you know it that as soon as someone in Bethel finally gets a 7mmBR they send the ammo back to their supplier after all these years on the shelf. Oh well, that's life.
