The meeting had a good turnout. I am not a part of the driving force of the group. I just attended, but I will find this interesting to follow. It could become a national story.
This proposed powerline will deliver 3 times the power produced by the hoover dam. The energy will come from O'brien county Iowa and go to Grundy County Illinois, just outside of Chicagoland.
The powerline is opposed for several reasons.
1. The power is not needed in Illinois. Illinois has a surplus of electricity and is sending electricity to the eastern states.
2. The electricity from this power line will cost 50% than current formed of electricity. "going green" is nice but at what cost? Sure Obama has bragged about bankrupting the coal industry, but electricity at these costs will bankrupt families.
3. East coast governors from New jersey, New York and VIrginia has all publicly states they do not want this high priced electricity.
I know I have posted about this before, but IO really need some help.

We need more public opposition to the Illinois Commerce Commission to show the politicians our seriousness to this issue.
If there are any Illinois residents who are willing to post opposition to this powerline, they can go to the Illinois Commerce Commission website and post comments.

This powerline is classic Obama/Pelosi liberalism where unsustainable spending on "sustainable energy" doesn't work.
Excessive windmill energy beyond what the market will economically bare is not smart or a wise investment for America.
