When the Nicholas and Alexandria exhibit came to Mobile several years ago, one of the artifacts that caught my eye was a tiny fully machined replica of a Mosin-Nagant that belonged to the Tsars young son, Alex. The bolt worked and with a loupe, the detail was amazing. I don't think it fired though.

Point is, the Russians have made these tiny scale weapons for a long time. With a bayonet, the Mosin was just a little over a foot long. For a "small" gun collection, I don't think you could do much better. But like the Faberge eggs, a little too spicey for my taste.
