3rd. frost here, gotta get the potatoes to a warmer place!
You could just put on a couple extra pairs of underwear. That's what I do.
Wonder what model that Vermeer baler is? It looks to be the latest model out that is a total redesign Vermeer. Looks to be making a good bale.
Not sure of the model, my neighibor bought this one a couple years ago.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Nice must be up North Corn was harvested long ago here
Central MO....we got in a little late with the drought issues.....
Only the second hay cutting... in Sept???? Beautiful pics but man, hay must be bad business this year.
We were under drought conditions here most of the summer. It finally rained enough about a month ago to kick start it again. Prices for hay are all over the place right now. Estimates here in MO are indicating the hay crop being about 50% lower than last year...
Less in a drought.
Since you are taking the photos, that can't be you pulling the baler. Ain't being a gentleman farmer swell?[8D] Thanks for the memories, you know that is almost where I grew up.
I do recall this was your neck of the woods. I did not grow up here, but it certainly has become my home...[:)]. I do like working around my place, but mostly I stay out of the way....that is likely the safest move for all of us...[;)]
There ain't no second cutting in north MO this year and not a he!! of lot for the first cutting. Last year in one cutting, I baled 285 bales. This year I baled 85 bales.
Corn harvest?? Probably 25% of the corn was nearly worthless and got chopped for silage to supplement the low hay crop. I pulled a corn yield sample last Thursday and found 10% of the ears are the size of my fist, the rest were only double that size.
