This was obviously a foreign film, yet they drove on the right side of the road.
    Maybe it was domestic.

I believe they drive on the wrong side in France, and a few others to.The reason I say this, one time their was a mention by the Goverment on why we import so many foreign cars but export so few of our own.It was on sixty minutes or something? But what it boiled down to they said US. Auto makers refused to redesign their cars so as the steering wheel and controls would be on the opposite side.It would cost so much to redesign their production lines. So foreign Countries will not buy US cars.Makes since.

That is not true. Ford and Chevy and Mopar ahve plants overseas and sell cars in about every country there is.

Many rural mail carrier buy regular American cars in right hand drive.

I've driven in the following countries; Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy and Lichtenstein. They all drive oriented the same as we do here in the U.S. with the driver on the left side of the vehicle. Each country had it's own quirks as far as driving goes that have nothing to do with the traffic regulations. Double parking is the norm in the Netherlands, with bicycles everywhere. Just park when you visit and walk or take a canal boat ride. In Italy all stop signs, lights, etc. mean that you should slow down 'til about half way through then floor it!! In Switzerland come prepared for snow in July, we didn't and froze our tushes off when we hopped into Lichtenstein. In Germany come prepared to sit in hours long traffic jams (stau) on the autobahn in the middle of nowhere. (We once saw an older couple remove lawn chairs and a cooler and as the traffic inched down the road they would move themselves a few feet and continue to enjoy the sun.) Also, in Germany there are three lanes on the autobahns -- fastest lane--Porsche, middle lane--Mercedes, outside right lane--Americans. I am still having adjustment problems here in the States and we have been back since '94. My pet peeve is the left lane on the Interstates is the passing lane only, pass and get your butt over!!
