Lawyers sinking lower, (possible?)

I cannot believe the news bit I just got from Fox news. Seems some P.O.S American lawyer is suing the U.S govt on behalf of a bunch of Mexican families to the tune of over 40 million dollars. The families are suing the govt because their loved ones died in the Arizona desert of heat exhaustion while trying to enter the U.S illegally. Well it seems they and this lawyer feel that these individuals died as a result of negligence on the part of the govt because get this, THE GOVT FAIL TO PROVIDE OR ESTABLISH WATER DRINKING STATIONS IN THE DESERT. I swear to the LORD himself I do not know how much more crap like this I am going to be able to stomach.

Yea, its funny alright, but I wouldn't worry about it. Sure the case made the news, but you'll never hear another thing about it, cause it will probably either get dismissed or they will lose. And I doubt that the prosecuting lawyer will have his liscence for very long after that stunt. Thats the great thing about lawyers, is that they are self regulatory. The state BAR will probably have a little investigation after the judge reports him.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

I say we make the border between Mexico and the US look like the DMZ between N and S Korea. Plenty of Mines and Barb-Wire!!

Y, I saw the segment (O'Reilly) and made a post referring to it earlier. Gov't should counter-sue for the costs and mental anguish of dragging the corpses out of the desert.

Makes me wonder,- If Americans continualy and ilegally crossed the border into Mexico, how long would it be before they would simply shoot to kill the ilegals.

Most lawyers are nothing but a bunch of scum bags trying to make a name for their selfs and a few bucks.

Bad idea Greenlatern. If that happened, me and my buddies would have to find a new place to hunt javelinas.

After the water stations I guess they want a welcome center/taco stand with forms to get on welfare and transportation to the closest free shelter. Wait-they already have all that and more, its called Califorina!

Here in Michigan, potholes are a real problem with our roads. I saw a bumper sticker the other day that read "Lawyers make great fill for potholes". I laughed to myself for five minutes.

After donning my flame-proof suit, I must assert that a substantial minority of attorneys are hard-working, dedicated, professionals with souls. Unfortunately, the profession has even more mercenary &/or liberal vermin. Students in law school are constantly bombarded with the philosophical principles of law (yes, there are principles and ethics!). . . among these, that every one has a right to representation and that as attorneys, they cannot always pick their clients nor the causes, but still must be devoted advocates of those interests regardless of their personal beliefs. The problems we see in this country with our legal system stem at least as much from the 'entitlement' mentality rampant among the populace as the legal profession. I would submit that these are complementary forces creating situations such as this one.

My inability (and lack of desire) to achieve that level of objective idealism (at best) or cynical manipulation (at worst) was one of many factors that put an end to my legal career.
