Adopt a target.....

Our local target range has a way to keep the range in good working order. We have the usual rules such as clean up after yourselves, pick up your brass, etc. But, a few of us go a little further and "adopt a station". By that I mean that we each keep a particular station cleaned up and make all repairs as needed. We repair target frames, paint benches and tables, police the area and anything that will make a shooters experience at that station a nicer one. We got the idea from our local Archery club that has been doing this for years and it has worked well. For the service, our shooting association offers free membership. However, few of us shooters take advantage of that. Since materials are provided by the club, it's payment enough to have a nice place to shoot. I was wondering how many of the board members have heard of this practice and if you do this too?

Never heard of this, but it's a damn good idea. If I lived closer to my range, I'd certainly do it. I'll suggest it to "the powers that be." Thanks for the post.
