No ducks in Independence Kansas, so if anyone was going to come here DONT! Might as well join the peace corps!

No jokeNo rain= No ducks, but the geese are all over theplace. We limited out this mornig on geese. 15 guys and 45 geese. with one speck in the middle somewhere. All of the little marshes are all dried up. I turned the windmill loose on one of my ponds to fill t up so that all of my prized fish will not die when it decides to freeze really hard this year. The windmill has been runnning nonstop for 3 weeks and the pond is still not full. The groiund is just soaking it all up. songdog

Blame it on the mild weather up north, guys. At least in the Atlantic flyway, I saw scads of birds in eastern Canada in mid-Nov w/ hunters up there complaining that the waterfowl weren't following their normal migration patterns. Season closed in NH before we saw squat, at least in my area. Nine days to Xmas and we still have no snow & temps ranging up to 50 (NO COMPLAINT!!).
