Mexican made AGUILA is darn good. a lil' spendy but, you can find it at gun shows for 30.00 for 500 rnds. ( that is the 60gr)
Remember,"your woman may not find you handsome, But atleast she'll find ya handy". I love that show..............

Many guns "like" different ammo. I don't do any match shooting, but the best accuracy all-around I've had is with CCI Stingers. For shooting up cans, I just buy whatever is cheapest that day, Usually Blazers or Thunderbolts (expect a lot of weak rounds with Thunderbolts). My old Rem. Targetmaster likes Winchester Super-X, I have a bunch of old ones, I don't think they make them anymore.

Match - try everything on the market until you find what your particular firearm likes best.Plinking - whatever is cheapest. You can scrounge stuff at unbelievable prices if you keep your eyes open. I've had a lot of downright ugly ammo given me that worked just fine.Hunting - I sure like the CCI ammo. Any good HP ammo will do the job. I stopped using RN ammo after I put a gazillion holes in a stupid porcupine and had to wait for the damn thing to bleed itself so weak it fell out of the tree - it wasn't situated where I could safely shoot it in the head from the ground.

trapr, it's a 41-P, made in 1938. My dad killed a bear with it when he was nine years old. After his pop cleaned and butchered it, and stretched the hide on the logging shack, he whupped my dad and told him "Don't ever shoot a bear with a .22 again!!". Heh Heh. It shoots great, feels great, and is a treasured piece of history to me! Has the "pull and twist" safety.

Timberbeast, your Dad had the cojones of King Kong, the naivete of too many Hopalong Cassidy flicks and must have been born in a field of clover. What a marvelous, endearing story to have in your family history!
