Any good gun shops in RI?

My bride wants to take me on a 'romantic trip' to Newport, RI, this week or weekend to celebrate my (cough, cough) birthday. Since this is *supposed* to be *MY* day, she won't object to a few short trips to quality establishments dealing in the finer things in life. Or she better not . . . ! Never shopped RI; anyone know of any good shops in that area? Heck, I'd even settle for Eastern MA, although I try to avoid the area.Would be looking for unusual ammo, in particular, not firearms, but the places that have a good inventory of the latter tend to accumulate the former.

Check out Carrs Sporting Goods south of Taunton, MA. Neat store, lots of neat stuff and nice people. (Even let me handle an "Annie" ... Yessss!)

I like this place, in Woburn, Ma. about 5-6 minute drive off of Rt. 128. They have a decent quantity of WW2 bolt Action Jap, German, Russian, & Finnish stuff.Kind of tucked away from the street, but their directions will lead you there. http://www.fourseasonsguns.com/

I've bought from a shop in Warwick on the net before and they seemed preety good. It's D&L shooting supplies, 2663 W. Shore Rd. , Warwick, R.I. (800)564-1889. They have a web site, dlshootingsupplies.com. I got a great deal on a Ruger Bisley from them. Happy birthday!

Thanks for the ideas, guys. Charlie, DoB is one of those items I'd rather not have posted publicly because of the ID theft issue (recognizing it's easy enough to obtain . . . just make them work a little harder).

Iconoclast....Don't forget to take her to the Black Pearl Restaurant on the Pier or the White Horse Tavern in town.....just bring lots and lots of money! Many many good memories in Newport for me....also some bad ones.....was there in 83 when we lost the Cup....Have never forgiven the Aussies for that! BeachP.S. Am I having a memory lapse? It was 83 wasn't it? Beach

Beats heck out of me, bud; I have no interest in anything associated w/ Ted Turner - unless it's his funeral.
