I got to thinking about my pitiful post score....just over 300 and I've been on this board for 2-1/2 or 3 years. I either don't have much to say or I'm not a very prolific poster! Two more years to go before I will make "Member" status.......Whewwww, at least at this rate of posting.
I looked at some of the "prolific posters" here and a trend is evident which is interesting to me. All I have to do is make NINE (9) posts a day and I could be over 1,000 posts in less than four months....even if I started out with a score of ZERO! Not bad, huh?
Why would I post 9 or more posts a day? First of all, I would have to be posting something to a lot of posts in which I really had no concern so I probably wouldn't, (couldn't) post that much. Therefore, for me to post that much, I would have to be making a strong effort to do just that. To post to something not concerning me or my interests would serve no useful purpose except to "rev up the score." HHhmmmmm.
Those who have been posting since the beginning with their "earned" high scores because of longevity need to earn the High Status Symbols which mean something. Prolific posting generally only means someone has too much time on their hands....... (How could they be that lucky)?
For those needing to hit the "High Scores" I applaud you. Me, well, I'll just post when I have something of interest where I can contribute, (or take away), something for me. Don't need the notoriety anyway. I will make "Member" status within a couple of years anyway. Much more fun for me to "Hide and Watch" as the wonders of the Internet unfold right before my very eyes! Seems like its getting harder and harder in some cases, for some folks to impress themselves but it's sure Great Fun to watch them go about doing it!
I'm not throwing any rocks here.....just stating my honest opinion about the number of "credible posts" attributable to someone. How's your posting attitude?

(It helps if you imagine me saying that in kind of a sing-song way!)
Yeah, I know what you mean, post numbers mean nothing more than what we want to ascribe to them; I don't pay much attention to them, usually.

I just kinda wait around
for sombody to ask
something about bees.
When they do,
that becomes my
moment to shine.
Somtimes it is a long wait
and I don`t shine
In fact,some times
I feel quite dim.

I see in your profile that you have been on these forums just two weeks longer than me. At the rate you are posting it comes out to less than 1/2 a post a day. While my total equals a whopping 2/3's of a post a day moving me into member status in less than two years.
BOY! you're going to have to pick up this anemic pace. Nobody is even going to notice that little string of stars.

You could always post a couple interesting news articles for discussion.

Technically speaking, your post COULD be construed as a post for the sake of posting as it has little to do with guns. Maybe you are just being more sneaky by posting a post on how some people have too much time on their hands. . .
Just teasing of course. Having spent a couple of years as an active member on a different forum, I knew people that felt it important to post SOMETHING, ANYthing, just so that their number would be higher than others. Sort of like the numbers of posts were merit badges. Most people here seem more laid back and seem to enjoy the community and the subject matter.

Did sombody say somethin` about bees?
I've been a member from way down the roed. When they started that badge of distinction stuff, it really soured me and s l o w e d me up to where I had practically no interest.
I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the season also, but, I find that I spend less and less time here on this thing, posting rarely, only when I have something of great importance, like this printable and highly saveable short manuscript.
What am I doing here,...why did I print this out,...I should jus' delete this whole bit,...oops, too late, my finger done hit th' button.

just have to see their name up to get the number of postings up, no
matter why or what. Luckily, after see ing a few of their posts we can not even bother to look at them and just bypass them. Some others
have something worthwhile to say and usually valuable. Quality is
what counts, not quantity. That is how ratings should be done.
