    I'll let my folks know about this.
    Its across half the state from them, but mom was looking to get another kitty so she just might choose to rescue one of those.


    All I can say about whoever ran that place is that they'd better have died in an auto-wreck and no one knew...or were lost at sea...because there's no excuse for abandoning those animals like that [:(!]

    In our sinking economy, we will see more and more of this. Once-upon-a-time do-gooders, opening a "shelter" to "rescue" animals, getting donations from people, and all of a sudden they can't feed their charges. They bail, and the critters suffer.

    Our local western version is "horse rescue" centers, which are having trouble now that donors are broke, hay is high, horse slaughter plants have been shut down, and old horses are a dime a dozen.
