SaxonPig and the SCA

Hey saxonPig, I just wanted to get your attention. I bet that worked.

Amoung the things we have in common is a past with the SCA. I am an old friend of Hump de Bohund (spelling might not be correct after all these years) of V'tavia, and his wife Mamara. I recall you were active in this in KA, and probably not familiar with the V'tavia, it was probaly ruled by the dynasty in the Cleftlands back then, before V'tavia became a Kingdom. But perhaps you know that Hump did rule V'tavia at one time.

My memory on this is a bit foggy, dating back some 20 years ago, but at that time I was a lowly Friar selling guaranteed relics from the Holy Lands. I'm sure you are familiar with such relics, as your lady, from what I recall, still has an affection for them. Perhaps my faltering memory is exasperated by the fact that this was a period in my existance I might as well (or just as soon) forget about. It's been ney 18 years since I've shed the habit. I'm sure we never crosseed ratan as I was a merchant and you, a knight.

I don't know if you are aware, but Hump is the owner of the Bullseye indoor shooting range and gunshop here in Wichita. Actually, I knew Hump back in Jr. High, he is an old friend of mine.

At any rate, the real reason I've taken this time to get your attention is that I'll be in Hot Springs for a couple of days the third week of September. I have a Quality System's audit to run at a company located there (part of my mundane life). Well, what I do now is audits on companies that provide product for prime government contractors. I'll be in the area about three days. I was wondering if perchance we could meet half way somewhere, I'll buy dinner for you and your Lady and we'll swap some stories of days gone by.

Respectfully Yours,

Geoffrey de Cashey

Well, the byzantine politics of the organization always seemed to leave unanswered questions. My friend served as King and was still denied knighthood for some period after that. He worked many years to raise V'tavia from the status of princilaplity to kingdom, there were those in the Cleftlands (Cleveland) who resisted for some time. Having rank in the organization seemed to always translate to enemies somewhere.

I have an audit in Tulsa and one in Hot Springs that week, I'm not sure yet which I do the first half of the week. If it's in Hot Springs, Monday or Tuesday would work well. If I do Tulsa first there may be some wschedule problems. I'll know later this week.
