    No, it will not work.

Any semi-auto that is recoil or blow-back operated needs to be held fairly firmly to cycle properly.

Bump-firing requires the weapon to be held loosely. Trying to hold a recoil or blow-back operated gun loosely will usually cause it to jamb--the slide or bolt will not move with enough momentum relative to the "frame" of the gun; the frame and the bolt or slide will be trying to move "in tandem" and it just won't cycle then.

Something like the semi-auto "AK" can be bump-fired because the "cycling" of the action is conducted with gas being bled from the barrel--the gas pressure causing the action to "act" is not affected when the gun is "held loosely".

Maybe it wasn't "bump-firing"? Maybe it was the Glock 18--which is a full-auto weapon?

Naw I don't believe it was.
He used both hands, and it wasn't like sustained full auto.

Every time I've tried to bump-fire a Glock it doesn't cycle properly. However, a skilled machinist can make simple modifications to a Glock in order to convert it to full-auto. It may not have been a Glock 18. It could have been a modified Glock 17.

I've seen the G18 in action. Quite impressive!
It cycled through 30 rounds in 2 or 3 seconds!!!

The statement that a gun that is recoil or blowback operated will not work with the bump technique is incorrect. The M11/9 is blowback operated and very suited to bump firing, I haven't seen a M11/9 it didn't work well on. I can bump fire my Tec-22 with CCI Stinger ammo, a blowback operated .22! It has been my experience that it works better with some guns than other, even of the same type. It works great with some Mini-14's, not well others. It works great with some SKS's, not very well with others. I suspect the same is true with the Uzi.

I did see the Glock 17 bump fire on consumptionjunction.com a while back. Really cool stuff.

Besides, if it's a Micro Uzi (the kind that's a true pistol with no forward hand grip), you wouldnt be able to bump it anyway.

You need a forward handgrip to do bump fire.

Forward handgrips are not absolutely necessary to bump fire. As I stated above, I can bump fire my Tec-22 (using CCI Stinger ammo) and I do it without a froward handgrip. I do this by grasping the magazine and pushing forward on it. I also bump fire my Carbon-15 pistol and it doesn't have a forward handgrip. I do use a leather glove to prevent burns, and wrap my hand around the back of the barrel and front of the receiver, and "pull" it away from me. I have seen videos of a guy bumping a 1911 .45 Automatic, but never tried it on a .45 myself. It didn't work on my Beretta 92, but it might have if I'd worked on the technique some. I think perhaps I should have been a bit more forceful in my grip on the extended magazine. It is handy to have a forward grip to bump fire, but the principle can used in different ways by improvising. Holding an extended magazine on a pistol and pushing forward is an option. So will wrapping you hand around the front of the receiver and "pulling" it away from you. Use whatever means of utilizing the principle to make it work.
