Would you, should you......

Would you carry with out a CCW? Should you carry with out a CCW? This question has been asked before but I want to hear the answers again. I often visit Philadelphia. For it to be the city of brotherly love there is not much love there. Some place I go I fear for my life when I am not carring. These are not places I can just avoid. I have a VA permit and am waiting on a Florida permit. My Florida will be good in PA but until I get one should I carry? I do not like braking the law but do not want to loose my life.

If you will blame gun makers for every shooting then blame car maker for every car accident.

First you have to decide which is more important to you, not breaking the law or your own personal safety. If I were in your place I would put my own safety first. Carry without CCW.

I am a man that respects the law and would not like to break it but out there in those streets people are like animals. I would hate to see my kids to grow up without a father becaue some crack head wanted to buy drugs with my money.

I obey the letter of the CCW laws 99% of the time. I am mighty uncomfortable visiting the urban cess pools (e.g., Bahston, NYC, Philly, DC, Daleyville & etc.) without it, but try very hard to avoid being in such places except as absolutely necessary - which ain't hard to do! If I must be there, I try equally hard to be in crowded, well-policed, areas in the day time only. I wouldn't go into a jungle unarmed and the animals (druggies) in the cities are an even lower form of life . . . and their cowardly liberal apologists only slightly better.

I have been through The Liberty Bell at City Hall and another time the Exhibition Center carrying a gun. I worry about me before "Mans Law."

In the past I have, with your particular situation if anything happens prior to the issuance of your Florida permit which you say is reciprocal with PA. If anything were to happen before your FL CCW is issued you very likely could jeopardize it's being issued.

CCW= concealed carry weapon. here in tx it is a CHL. Concealed Handgun License. not a license to carry weapons(ie knife, blackjack, brass knuckles etc.)just handguns. but as many as you can carry concealed.

are there any states that allow more than a handgun to be carried concealed? any states thate allow only 1 handgun at a time?

Give your kids roots and wings. and dont forget the guns!!

How do you get a ccw permit from Florida living in VA?What is involved?

"It was like that when I got here".

Nevada gives permits to non-reaidents as long as you take the CCW class in Nevada and apply in Nevada. So a person from Cali. can get a CCW if they spend the weekend in Nevada take the Nevada approved classes and apply before they go home. I'm not sure how many states do this but I think all states should and I think a CCW should have recipricosity in all 50 states(my idea of heaven!) All fees for permits are constant no hike up for out of towners(to my understanding)

Does anyone happen to know if Illinois has such a permit? I am in the suburbs, outside of Cook/Dupage, the Chicago area.

Nope, your out of luck. I also live in the Dupage area. Its good to see someone else living with my pain. It's also nice to see a user here living in my area. I'm looking for more people to go shooting with. I'm planning on going shooting in Ottawa next month. The place is called Buffalo rock range. The date is not set yet, but it will be on a Sunday. Email me, if you are interested in going.

    ccasey612,

I'm a bit confused, why in the world do you go "Some place I go I fear for my life" on a regular basis??? If you can't tell what these places are, maybe you can hint at your line of work. Cuz for me, if work took me there and I didn't have the right to carry WHATEVER gun I choose, I wouldn't go.

AHHH, I get it, your going to you in-laws place!
