Well...The transfer finally came through and I'll be leaving Sunny Southern, KA for Misty Northwest Washington. Found a great house in a little town called Lynden that's about a third of what it would cost in San Diego. The Quality of Life for me and the family will also improve.
I've already gone Salmon fishing and got a 33 pound king and look forward to some hunting later in the fall. My uncles laughed when I said I was going to use my Nagant M-44 for deer, but my dad gave me his old Remington 721 in 30-06 so I should be fine.
I love California, but the politicians have turned it into a laughing stock. Illegal Aliens get Medical, Housing and Welfare, but my senior, disabled mom who has worked all her life has no real benefits available. Davis blows it by lying about the 33 Billion Dollar Deficit and expects us to pay for his mistakes. What an arrogant Bas***d.
My final act will be getting an absentee ballot before I leave, so I can vote for Arnold.

Welcome to The Evergreen State borderguy.
Don't expect anything much different from these politicians though.
I'm afraid all you did was buy yourself a few years before you have all the same problems that you left.
The Seattle area pretty much sets the political tone for the rest of the state, and those people are mostly "california liberals".

As a soon to be ex-Californian, please let me apologize for exporting our liberals. There are much better things to be had from the Golden State.

Yeah, WA is far to liberal for me. I'll be moving from KR (KaliRussia) in about 2 years to probably Montana! Can't wait!

When they come to get your GUNS, make sure to give them the AMMO first!!!

As a born & raised Washington native let me give you a big HOWDY, borderguy. Lynden is about 35 miles north of my home in Burlington.

While it's true that Washington has a liberal government, and it's also true that the liberal/socialists in the lower Puget Sound area of King, Pierce & Thurston counties pretty-much drive state politics, it's one hell of a lot better here than in Kalifornia. We still have very limited firearms laws and "shall-issue" concealed weapons permits. And it seems to me that the tide is beginning to turn on the liberal politics that have rode herd on this state for too many years.

Lynden is probably one of the most conservative/religious towns in Washington. Hope you find it to your liking.

    Hello Lowrider,
Thanks for your welcome. I stayed in Burlington during my househunting trip. Each evening tried to visit someplace new like the Chukanut Drive and Deception Pass. It's beautiful country. I was aware of Lynden's reputation, but man, it's a nice town. I have friends in Mt. Vernon and Bellingham and family in Westport.
I'm looking forward to seasons that change and non-restrictive gun ownership, as well as some fine hunting and fishing.
