the phrase you get is two words. phonetically it sounds like DOH SVEEDONYA

the first word means "to", "up to" (time) or "until"

the second word means "(a/the) meeting".

they don't use pronouns like "the" or "a" or whatever. we would say "set the bag on the floor" they would say "set bag on floor".

so it means, literally, until meeting.

which is not quite so goofy as literally saying good bye. if it's someone you don't like, do you tell them bad bye?
