New York-AP -- Americans have made unprecedented charitable donations to help victims of the September eleventh attacks.Getting them to stop -- or, more precisely, to redirect their generosity -- hasn't been all that easy.The second-largest charity -- the September Eleventh Fund -- recently asked people to donate to other causes.But fund spokeswoman Jeanine Moss says the money keeps coming in. The fund has collected more than 430 (m) million dollars.Moss says this is not unexpected. There were pledges and revenue from a telethon C-D that continue to raise money.There will come a time when the fund will stop taking contributions. But it's not there yet.Moss adds that there remains plenty of September eleventh-related need. Thousands of people have lost their jobs as an indirect result of the attacks.
