LEO's-Alcohol sniffing flashlight?

Police in Ohio are now using flashlights that can pick up the scent of alcohol. However, state troopers won't be carrying them because of questions about their reliability and admissibility in court. A tiny, battery-powered device on the end of the flashlight can determine the presence of alcohol on the breath of a driver or anywhere else in a vehicle. Mothers Against Drunk Driving gave the State Highway Patrol about 10 flashlights, but a patrol spokesman says they aren't being used. He says troopers have tested the devices at sobriety checkpoints but have concerns about reliable readings. There also are no guarantees that the readings would be legal to use in court, and the patrol doesn't want to jeopardize losing a drunken driving conviction because evidence was thrown out.
