I was listening to a radio broadcast today wherein the guest was presenting his view that the whole Syria thing is a ruse. I tend to agree, but I've been unclear as to the underlying true motivations. This guy's conclusion, backed up by what sounded like some credible supporting data, was that the whole mess can be traced back to the Saudi's. This was not an Alex Jones type broadcast chocked full of crazy allegations, this guy actually had some pretty salient points with first hand evidence from operatives on the ground in Syria (some who had been injured from handling / transporting chemical weapons without knowing it).

The story goes... Allegedly, the Saudi's are in cahoots with some militant groups with connections to al qaeda. The Saudi's, at the direction of black ops contingents from the US and Britain, are using these militants to stir up a major international incident (i.e. chemical weapons) in Syria with the intent of creating the justification for the US to become involved on the ground in Syria.

To make a long story short, the theory basically goes like this; the US gets involved militarily in Syria and this results in spreading regional conflict. Before long Iran (one of the real goals of these dark forces) gets involved which significantly escalates the US/NATO involvement (because of the nuclear angle). Once Iran gets involved, and the US escalates, this draws in Russia. In short order you have the makings for WWIII...with what appears to be the deck heavily stacked against the US and the west. ...again, so it 'appears'.

In reality, the sides of this conflict are more clearly defined in the shadows. In this guy's view, WWIII is very unlike previous world wars; this war is about the 'haves' vs. the 'have nots'. WWIII is all about stripping the last bastion of wealth from the world...the middle class. It's all about control, power and above all wealth. It's the final solution...the proverbial 'end game' for mankind.

At first I really didn't want to believe this guy, but he kept digging deeper and deeper, putting more and more pieces of the puzzle into place where things made sense (more so than they have in a while). I listened to him for quite a while and started wondering...

...could there actually be some truth in this??? Could this whole sequence of events be a completely contrived and manipulated sequence of events, perpetuated by the elites (who have no loyalty to any country other than the island of their own wealth) to bring about WWIII?
