Sling dye

I have a normal ak sling that is a real faded black, almost blue looking. I want to dye it black again. Was wondering if anything special is needed or if the regular dye you can buy from the store will work and if it holds up. Thanks.

You mean like a canvas sling or leather? A while back I tried dyeing a leather sling and it was a failed experiment. However I didn't use anything to strip the existing finish off it so that may have been the error in my ways!

It's not leather, it's just one of those normal military web slings for an AK. I would assume the normal cheap dye that can be bought at any store would work, but I just wanted to see if anybody else tried it.

Bleach the remaining color out if it is a cloth type sling.
You may have to run it thru the dye a couple times to get the color you want

If it is nylon or simular i can't tell you what to do other than buy new one.
