Washington-AP -- There's more evidence suggesting an aspirin a day may keep some kinds of cancer away.

Scientists at the Harvard School of Public Health say the over-the-counter pain reliever, known to help prevent heart attacks, may also lower the risk of Hodgkin's disease.

The researchers stumbled on the Hodgkin's connection while looking into the role a certain virus plays in the lymph system cancer. In their study, patients who regularly used aspirin had a 40-percent lower risk of Hodgkin's.

Experts caution more research is needed to prove whether the link is real.

(M) Millions of Americans already take low-dose aspirin to help prevent heart attacks, and studies suggest it may modestly lower the risk of a few cancers, most notably colon cancer.
