I am going to my first gun show this weekend... I mean official gun show...and not the flea markets that I ususally go to...
Before I went to the range for the first time... I really had no interest in guns, so Classic went with friends while I did shopping or something else... Now that he has me hooked on guns... well he now has me begging to go... *LOL... Wonder if he realized what would happen when he took me to the range that first time?... Course his friends are always welcome...
I am looking forward to it very much.. more to see if I can find a gun that I really want as my carry weapon... I cant carry the .45 in my purse.. (too big)... and it was really bought for him...*LOL *

You will love it and be sure not to buy the first thing that you see and like...check all the other vendors there...and talk to them. When snarlgard found the baby I wanted this weekend, he was talking to the man and he pulled the box out from under his table. It was exactly what I was looking for...as for me..I will spend this friday at the range firing it...I can hardly wait!!
Enjoy yourself, you will have a GREAT time!!!!!!!! also you will meet a lot of really nice people

I went to my first (and maybe last) gun show last Nov. I never saw a bigger bunch of dusty, old, broken down rejects. The guns weren't very good either. I hope the shows are better where you live.

BR: becareful if you carry your gun in your purse, make sure that there are no small items that can get in or around the gun ,, it would be a terible thing to have a need for it and find that a paper clip or some small item got where it didn't belong and jammed every thing up ,,,,, as for gun shows well some are good and some times they can really be bad ,,, just be yourself you should have a great time, and don't be afraid to ask questions,, most guys [if they have a brain in their heads] are glad to try and help out a new shooter

Gordian, please consider the post above yours. Shows vary enormously, not only between venues, but dates in the same place, even year to year. Only way to know is to go. I find some great and some a disappointment, but usually meet someone new & learn something. Beats hell out of cubicles, in any case!

Be prepared for the prices to be high, often higher than the gun shops. As Iconclast said they vary greatly. I find something worth while about 1 show in 5 or 6.

    Anyway HAVE FUN!

BlackRoses is not an impulsive buyer, and I trust her judgement when it comes to the right gun for her,

I have taught her well. She will not pay the asking price! and she is one of the best at barganing.

she has made many better deals on guns than I would have. I guess thats cause I am easy

Which show are you going to? Richmond is this weekend, and if you are there check out Dark Sun, that guy has the lowest prices around, and has all the top of the line stuff, HK,SiG,Glock,etc...
