If you are, sit back and relax. I received a call from BATF this morning that they are backlogged with requests. I submitted my application on October 13th, they cashed the check on November 23, and told me this morning it will be about 2 MONTHS before I receive the license. That folks is our tax money at work... Waiting and waiting etc in NJ-Charlie

Saxton$30 for 3 yearsis the cost. And yes to for collecting. Advantage you can use your C&R to buy and have shipped direct to firearms that are on the ATF C&R list. http://www.atf.treas.gov/firearms/relics/#LIST

Didn't they just get a HUGE raise in revenue from Bush? You'd think that with all that extra money, the morons would be able to hire a few more people. Oh wait, I forgot. They have to buy all those new tanks and fighter jets to keep us little people in line.

No C&R license for old NJRETCOP!I just received a call from the BATF, that they will issue the license to me, BUT the State of NJ does NOT recoginize it!!! I cannot use it without a state dealers license! In order to obtain a state dealers license, you must have store front business, in direct violation of the federal law, duh! They said that I can use it as a $30.00 wall hanging if I like.

For those of you waiting still, if you spelled the address out in large block letters so the idiots could read it, and put more than one stamp on it, you're in for a long wait, they're analyzing your letter for anthrax spores.

OK I went to the site and I'm still confused by all the technical jargon. Someone please spell it out in simple terms. If I apply for a C&R and get it can I have firearms on the list shipped to me instead of to an FFL? And I cannot resell them after purchasing? Would this be benificial to someone who wants to buy for his own use and avoid added expense of dealing with an FFL when buying from an auction?
    when all else fails........................

7mm-you can sell them but the license is primarily for collecting.they just dont want you making a living from gun sales.all sales (or giveaways) must be recorded in a bound book & the record kept forever as i understand it.

I called the BATF nearest phone number and got an application in the next days mail. Guess I was just lucky, got mine in a few days less than the stated 30 processing time. Got my $30 fee back in saved transfer fees real quick. [This message has been edited by llib (edited 01-02-2002).]
