    Had the opportunity to speak at the National Shooting Range Symposium in Orlando (1996). They took us on a tour of some local ranges....Lakeland Rifle and Pistol, Tenoroc Shooting Range in Lakeland, and Orlando Shooting Sports. All were very nice facilities. Gateway Rifle and Pistol Club in Jacksonville is first class.Here are some others that may be in your area:NORTH AREA RANGES

    A pay range in Baker Located about 6 miles north of Hwy 90. Their web page is http://www.guns4u.net/
    Conecuh National Forest 12 miles north of the Alabama State line. Range times are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 0800 to 1700 hrs. From Crestview take 90 West until you hit the turn off for Baker which is Hwy 4 North. Once you hit downtown Baker keep going straight on Hwy 189. Once you hit the Alabama border the range is a further 12 to 13 miles on your left. The sign is pretty small so keep a lookout for it. If you guys do use this range, please pitch in and police up when you finish. The last time I spoke with the park ranger who maintains it, trash, (ie. left over targets and brass) are his biggest problem. Shoot safe and have fun!

    Jody, I thought the Tenaroc was a pretty nice range...it had just opened up when we toured the facility.     Manatee Range is a great place to shoot. We shoot .308(168gr) and .223(68) out to 585 yards and bang the steel plates all day. Some guys target and some blast away @50yds. Laid back folks. If you ain't safe, you just ain't safe, no matter where you go...Got to shoot a Barret 50 just for spotting for a fella. Try it you'll like it.Gun control is when the muzzle is pointing downrange

    KARS PARK at kennedy space center gun club on Merritt Island - Rilfe Pistol 100yd only and a trap skeet range - $5 for non members,pretty laid back and some nice guysTitusville Rifle and Pistol Club in Mims fla. (just north of titusville) 100 and 200 yd rifle range - trap range, and spinner target and 50 yd pistol range. $7 for non members - mostly good guys a couple ***** range officers but they are seldom there.drop me an e-mail if you want more info.

    I think this one is a NRA range, if not there is a NRA range in Ocalla.Ocala National Forest Marion County

    Forgot to mention Manatee Club is $15 for the day, and the info I pick up there is far more valuable that the range fee. Markham Park down in Broward Cty-SR84 is pretty cool. $6/day pistol-50cal up to 100yds and relaxing. My 2 sence..
