Currently talking about healing divisions in our country.

Media will report that he's speaking in support of white supremacy.

[V][xx(] No matter what he has to say the liberal press will try to destroy him. Go President Trump

Is it to much to hope he will just let STRATCOM loose on the middle east?

I did too for the most part. I certainly appreciated his poopcanning nation building, and his opening remarks.

    I'll be damned.

I thought NBC's post speech comments were very fair.

Going to say right now that I think the idea of "Victory" in Afghanistan is a farce.....but if we are going to fight the war, I would rather fight it the way he is describing.

I was hoping for "I've suspended all rules of engagement" or "we're leaving".

No?He may have hinted at it, but I didn't hear anything emphatic enough to make me believe we were taking the restraints completely off our military. I really hope I'm wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember the "rules of engagement from when I was in Vietnam"; they sucked!!!!!!!!!!!

On a serious note, James, did you really get the feeling that the rules of engagement would be suspended? We were eating supper and watching the speech; perhaps I missed it!

It definitely sounded like rules of engagement were going to be loosened.

I also got the impression that if it takes putting a dictatorship in place to secure the peace, he'd be willing to do that.

    "Nation building" is over.

I did, Bill, but Trump seems to have left a tiny bit of wiggle room, which is prudent.

There was obviously a compromise between Trump and the establishment warmongers, and I feel it was Trump who demanded that we would kick *, but there will not be any nation building like the establishment Bush & Obama pursued, one world order police crap. In exchange the establishment and the brass got what they wanted in The rules of engagement arena. Maybe I'm all wet though.

I just listened to it. Probably the best presidential speech I've heard in 50 years. I can only hope that it means the cuffs are off the military and they can finally do the job that they were trained for, Winning wars. We don't need the media on the front lines either. Week old news is good enough in war time from the front.
