I've got a few Hamilton's, along with an Illinois, and a Waltham. Got another one, size 22, can't remember the name of it right off. I'll have to keep this one on my list.

I do repair work on vintage pocket watches and Hamiltons are built as good as any and better than most. If you'll post the serial number we can give a date on the watch. Or you may already know. What kind of case is the movement in? Be sure to let us know when you get it listed. [:)]

Case serial number J387933 movement serial number C386393...Hamilton Watch Co USA... 992B... 21 Jewels...lever set...bar over the winding stem (I forget what that is called.) It has the "snakeskin" hands...and is SUPER clean. Runs perfectly...and is in the presidential case. It is VERY VERY nice.

The chain is something else. I tested the gold and the links are made of 14k. The pendant and clasp are plated. It is from....."ODD FELLOWS"...a lodge type charitable organization like the Free Masons or Shriners. It weighs 36.5g and the skull's eyes are rubies. THAT is a real treasure!!!!

I've got to do some more investigating on the ODD FELLOWS so I can list the chain properly. I may go ahead and list the watch and do the chain alone. I have had the chain for about 2 years....I just love it....but you can't keep everything.

Wow, very nice watch. The case is a bar over crown, model #2. The movement is 16 size , was made in 1940, and is railroad grade. The hands are not original. List the watch and chain seperately, you'll get more money. I'll bid when you get it listed.

That is a very nice Hamilton RR watch. The display box is worth a bundle too. I have my Dad's Hamilton 23 jewel he carried all thru WWII. along with its original blue velvet lined case. If only it could talk about the battles of Midway, Okinawa, Iwo Jima. You will be amazed how much that Hamilton brings. I had my Dad's appraised in 1985 and was shocked. Look inside the back case and see if there are any unusual markings. That would indicate the jeweler or cleaning the watch has had.

why would you list that watch on this sight in this economy for a penny?
these cheap guys will try to steal it from you lol or at the very least there aren't enough people here who know and appreciate ($$) the watch to give it a fair outing and with a penny start you can't prevent it from selling way below market.
even ebay would be a better place to find the "right buyer" than here and I haven't looked but I bet there are all kinds of sights for collectible time pieces just my two cents by the way I have a friend who collects watches so when you list it I will tell him about it...good luck

Larry is a watch guy....I don't even know what all we have. He has a small collection of pocket watches and a TON of wrist watches. This one came to me through a strange deal. It was a bad trade on my part....but I was just trying to help out the other guy. I'll list the watch in just a little bit.
