Here comes the Lead

Well it is happening, Vista Calif, they have closed the LEO indoor range down due to high contents of lead. That sneaky lead actually crept into the workout room and was at high enough levels that they tested all concerned for lead poisoning. Nobody tested positive probably because the CalOsha regs are way too conservative. Has anybody heard of this happening in his or her state?

A well designed range will have positive air flow from the firing line toward the targets and all that flow goes to filters/scrubbers before it is exhausted to the outside. Even with that, EPA rules MAY require special decontamination procedures for the floor (and walls) forward of the firing line.
As a friend once said, shooting on an indoor range is a lot like having a picnic in your basement!
