Handgun finish

Got a pre owned 92FS a week ago and I'm looking for any do-it-yourself bluing kit. Some time ago I saw an article in an Gun rag about a guy who bout a old gun and threw the gun in some solution and then baked it in the oven, it's had a nickel finish.
I'm looking for either dark blue or perhaps green like Wilson's guns.
Anyone know where I can find any similar kits?
One more thing, the previous owner had fitted a high Millet target sight, and had the front sight drilled and tapped for a secure fit, I removed the front sight and installed a new fixed rear, but there are still two ugly looking holes in the front sight, what should I do to fill those holes up, before bluing the gun?
And should I take down the whole gun, meaning slide stops and take-down levers?
Thanks for your input!

Fill the holes with flush fitting screws.
Take down as much as you can and blue individually.
