Any one of you ever experienced Laser assisted long distance sniping ?A "sighter" paints the target at 1000y(3,000ft) you adjust for thermal distortion windage and switch to "lock" aim at red point and Gun shoots by itself (CPU optical trigger) using electricaly primed ammo .Like the new rifles being sold now..... Just curious about how many tested this toys out there..... I don't like electric guns but it is intertesting .....

I've never tried it. It sounds interesting but for benchrest shooting at the range only. I can't imagine trusting my life or going through combat being so reliant upon such devices. I feel that we already take too many risks with "technology".

Way too complex and obsolete. Current tech. is to use a scope with built-in laser range finder and ballistic computer adjusted crosshairs. Simply aim, trigger LRF and the scope will adjust crosshairs for range (you input the ballistics for the round you are shooting prior to this mission).Simple, almost foolproof, requires only one operator leaving the observer to ohbserve/provide security.
