Computer savvy advice?

My daughter dropped an IBM Thinkpad (laptop computer)from a table today. Nothing seems to be broken. It powers up fine and seems to operate, but the image on the screen is almost too dark to see, like looking through dark sunglasses. Trying to adjust contrast and brightness doesn't help. Am I looking at a huge repair bill
or is this something reasonably simple to repair?

If its an older machine, it'll be a lot cheaper to replace it with a newer one.

It is an easy fix. A backlight inverter. Can be found on e-bay. Don
