(Ruger advertised a stainless Bearcat in in their catalog--must be about six years ago--but never made any then. Finally, this year, they're making them!)I love stainless steel!

Me too. It makes really good cooking pots but lousy frying pans (everything sticks)

I like stainless too, but for the most part you can keep ruger. Bricks with triggers. They do make a limited number of nice models, none of which have decent triggers.

Competentone....here I thought you were going to spell "Rembrandt". I only own one model of Ruger (10/22), no complaints about the 4 I have....but I must agree with He Dog, the rest seem chunky and lacking in ergonomics and style. It's the only gun company that likes to publish their entire safety manual on each barrel, maybe that's why you don't see too many engravers use these as a canvas. I could maybe be pursuaded to invest in a Vaquaro...have to think about for a while....

The only Ruger I own is a .44 mag. Vaquero, 4 5/8 inch barrel, stainless. I love it but, like you say, it has the entire owners manual, the company business plan and the Gettysburg Address engraved on the barrel. Why in God's name do they do that?

Well I guess competentone and I can agree on something. I love my Ruger Number 1V .22-250 in stainless steel with its beautiful laminated stock. And the trigger pull is nothing to complain about. It's my only Ruger but if it is the quality that I judge the company I'll give Ruger a thumbs up. Beach

Competent: They did make at least one stainless, because I handled one at the same time I bought the blued version (new model) about 6 years ago. Guess I should have bought both.

Bought a Ruger standard auto pistol when I was younger. The barrel was bored off center. They swore that was inpossible until I sent it to them. Bought a #1 in 25-06 in 1980. Every third or fourth round would stick in the chamber, (reloads). It damn near made a one way trip into the Snake River. Special dies from RCBS fixed the problem for the guy I gave it to.Own a 10/22 International, nice checkering fore and aft and it shoots like a house afire until that crappy magazine gets a little dirty, then it starts to jam. I carry two or three extras and clean them all after every chiseler hunt. (you have to disassemble them to really get 'em clean) Terrible design.Still. I like Rugers.Clouder..
