Update from the homestead

Just celebrated the 3rd year of having the boys here. Now becoming young men at 5 and 8 years of age. Looks to be a permanent arrangement, so I guess they will be moving to the mountains with us when we go. With Spring coming on fast, we are prepping the tents and fishing gear for opening day of trout season. I am doing my best to teach them to track, fish and appreciate the woods as well as making good grades in school. They of course prefer the woods skills training to school work, but I explained that a redneck faces great challenges to the way of life that come from educated do-gooders. If you can at least equal them in book smarts, there is no way they can match you in woods smarts and you will come out ahead. Anyway, just stopped in to update you all. Take care, Kurt
