Yep, I went and got another apartment as my folks are doing ok now. I moved the family back home to help my dad after a slight stroke and back surgery. Next year my girl starts middle school and we wanted to be back in "country" schools. Only 20 miles from my parents but big difference in city to county. Acres of land for kids to be free on and only 3 other houses in sight.
Got a "old fashioned" 3 bedroom apt on a 41 acre old horse farm. The land owner is too old now for horses so he just leases the fields to grow horse and cow feed, these huge rolls of hay(?).Old fashioned means it was built back in the 30's or 40's when the 4 bay garage was built underneath. All solid wood trimmed and antique door handles and hardware. Huge kitchen I actually put my 8 person dining room table in with too much room left. Bathroom isn't too wide but very long with two closets. Bedrooms are huge for the kids. Got a workshop that overlooks the pond, fields and hills.

Yep got a pond with bass and bluegill in it, alot of weeds though. Can hunt any game thats in season. Maybe even pistol shoot some but he asked no rifle. Deer, fox, groundhog, pheasants, haven't seen quail yet, alot of doves, geese when in season.
Downfall is no cable tv or DSL net. Gotta get a dish and maybe dial-up. We are a lil' bit out in the country so they never got cable access.

Me Too !!! I really hate moving : long moving story short , when I bought this place & was moving out of the old place , my wife had left (for good!)and a friend was helping me move . he came over one morning and we moved most of everything and we walked around to the front of the house and asked "what is that"? , I had piled up axp. half of the old clunky p.o.s. furniture ...I told him , I told my (ex)wife that I wasnt moving that poop again , and then doused it with kerosene and lit it up !!! I would rather some-one kick me than have to move .............Oh Well...............
    Thanks !!!

I haven't moved in near 30yrs., although I think sometimes a move is a good thing. Gives one a nice change of pace and a new perspective.

    I saw a bumper sticker.

"yes, this is my truck. No, I won't help you move."

Moving is a real pain. Especially if there is a major relationship change. But the post about the new beginning is so true. Its a chance to learn about a new part of town, a new city or state. Things have always improved with a move, for me at least. But at the time I thought, yuk, another stupid move.

Good luck at your new digs! Sounds like a better place to raise the kids.

I think moving is great. Plan ahead, get organized and get rid of a lot of flotsum that you accumulate and follows you around.
