Don't know about the state, but there's a good one up at the end of my valley. Visibility is cut way down, smoke everywhere. Thunderstorm came through here the other day, and must have touched off a couple.

Note: after 20+ years of bizarre timber policy and the complete destruction of America's timber industry, our national forests are a mess. Up to 60 percent dead in many areas, due to beetle kill, and nobody to cut them. Makes great firewood, but I'm only one man and can't butn more than six cords a winter in my fireplace. You look at these forests, and you want to cry. It's a tinder box. Chalk up another one for the greenies.

No, that wasn't the hippies, that was Al Gores fault for inventing global flooding.[:D]

Calif is ablaze right now. There have been over 800 lightning strikes in the northern and central parts of the state. Lots of fires burning.

The governator has asked for help from adjoining states to fight the fires.

All that wood around and they still won't let you cut it.

Is that like a dangerous road?

    Or an unruly storm?

Perhaps we should subdue that Wildland.

    Civilize it.

    For it's own sake.
