Just wondering about an auction that I saw. Auction#3580016 A mo 627DX CLSC S&W. 44MAG, 6"bbl, 6rnd cylinder, round butt. In the description the seller says that this gun is illegal in Kalifornia? I thought that a revolver was about as PC as you could get as far as firearms are corncerned.

It would probably be legal if you could show it was gay.

It has nothing to do with pre-ban or post ban "issues". Only guns passing "stringent" safety tests can be imported into Kalifornia now. Maybe the manufacturer never submitted that model for testing. Guess Kalifornians can't buy it now.

Just when I thought Kalifornia couldn't be any more F@$&*^ up along comes this requirement.[This message has been edited by GreenLantern (edited 04-09-2002).]

I suppose that means my granddad's little Mauser 1934 .32 caliber is now just as illegal as the .30 carbine I once bought in North Hollywood and the AK47 I bought when I moved back to Indiana. Strange company, eh?You know, I lived in L.A. for over 20 years after attending U.S.C. and worked in the studios for everybody from Steve Allen to Leonard Nimoy to Michael Eisner & Co. at the top of the Disney Studios. But California has now basically barred me from returning because I happen to be a Life Member of the NRA, yet I would have only 60 days after moving there to dispose of any remaining illegal guns in my possession, including the war-era .30 carbine I once bought at B&B Sales in North Hollywood and my granddad's Mauser pre-WWII handgun. I guess I'd rather not go back to a place that was stupid enough not to welcome me.

Offeror, I really don't think you are missing much by not going back.

Offeror, things here are even more confused than that. The .32 mauser wouldn't be illegal for you to own, just illegal for you to sell or bring into the state, the .30 carbine is NOT illegal or on the banned assault weapons list but the AK47 is. BTW, an antique Colt revolving percussion cap shotgun would be illegal also!!!

Still not quite right. You can sell guns not on the list to a private party but a dealer can't sell them UNLESS it is a consignment. North American Arms has just passed their .22 LR & .22 Mag with the shortest barrel but a 1/2" longer barrel can't be sold. Even the finish makes a difference, if the approved model is SS then the blued model can't be sold & vice-versa.The strangest provision is the one that outright bans handguns with magazines that fit in front of the trigger. That includes at least one type of Olympic .22 shorts.[This message has been edited by gruntled (edited 04-09-2002).]
