Some M1903, M1903A3, M1 rifles and M1 Carbines had 2 holes on the left side of the stock.
Was this original, if so, what were they there for?

Dammit MG...[;)]
I have a few that I'm going to put out tomorrow when my wife opens up her yard sale.
Never used, marked 1944 but for some reason they are not valuable.
I think I got them for 10.00 apiece years ago.
So Google says
I'm curious if anyone will buy one or more
Mine are like this one with the peep sight and the bubble level
I want some thing to show while I'm sitting around waiting at the yard sale.
I had so many that I gave some away.
Maybe I'll have a quiz and give one away
Will see
