greetings, don't know about the blk power 22 but my son owned a 22lr , they're well made but small and lite making them hard to aim and remain on target after the first shot. and nite shots are out less you have x-ray vison, the only gun that i owned that had more fire come out the bbl was a colt trooper mark V, not recomended. respt submitted dads-freehold

I don't know about the black powder but I have a regular one. You can hit the barn wall ONLY if you are on the inside. Myself a friend and the range master tried to hit a target at 15 yds. Finally after MANY attemts found out that if you aim 2 feet low and to the left of the target you could punch paper consistently, but with no accuracy. I can not imagine that the black powder would be any better. And like you said messy.

If I knew then, what I know now.

    Army boy
my 22 mag cap and ball revolver is still new in the box, I bought
it with the intention of shooting it but after looking at and handling
it I may just keep it boxed up for awhile. Mine has no rear sight to
speak of and the small size makes it very easy to point the muzzle
in an unsafe direction. Not to say that I'm disappointed, the
workmanship is first class and the fit and mechanical function seems
fine. New price was about $200 and this tiny revolver cannot be
easily modified to fire 22 RF cartridges. I considered trying a light
load of smokeless but have not done so as of this time. The maker
touts it as being the worlds smallest 22 revolver, I would not feel
comfortable carrying this revolver loaded or depending on it for personal defense. The manufacturer specifically warns AGAINST using
    anything but ffff blackpowder.
    good luck

Go to the discussion board & you will find this topic.
You should also note there is a special this month direct from the factory.
It really is only for fun as it is lower powered than the .22 LR
& from the comments it is not at all accurate.
