I know its skipper but call it driving hey i am left handed what do you expect.
Anyhow one of my best friends goes fishing almost every day during spring and summer.
I go with him about 4 times a year. Fishing over 4 hours sucks big time for me and just hurts to bad for the next few days.
Paul will drink more than is legal if im there to take over the boat for him. He will tell me go left or right because there is a tree here or a sandbar there.
When i first started driving the bass boat if a game warden saw me he would tell me to let the drunk guy drive before you kill someone.
I kept on oversteering. I would weave like i was drunk driving. I can drive now pretty good.

You obviously need lessons from FCD. He's aces.
Just ask him, he'll ...oh, nevermind, he already did.
Very mature replies, guys!
The man recounts a fun memory for him, and you not only derail the thought, but make it about someone else completely.
Good going!
And here you are, derailing the derail. You ought to be ashamed of yourself[:D]
Except that for some it's so deep it's buried.
The bigger the boat, the harder it is to not oversteer.
When there is that sudden realization, they have NO brakes!!!!!!!
They don't all "drive" the same because of the difference in the hull design.
I like watching people trying to dock a boat for the first time.

I had a hell of a time teaching my wife that! When she drives a car it's full speed ahead or full braking. She would always come to the dock way too fast and them get mad at me for telling her to slow down. Then came the day she creased the hull... I didn't say a word, but she finally got the message!
You can skipper a boat, pilot a boat, captain a boat or operate a boat and you can also drive a boat (because you have [:D]).

Not to mention type of steering.
The stick steer on my 16' runabout was a learning experience.

You let her operate the boat?
That is insane!

Good times for sure. [:D]

I completely trust in my wife's ability to operate a boat because she has a Captain's License. [^]
Docking a boat, especially at a crowded marina is about as stressful as it gets because you just know that everyone is waiting for you to screw up, Heck, it's a sport here in Florida to sit on deck or at the TiKi bar sipping a martini and watching the newbies try to get their boat to the dock without hearing laughter in the background.
Good times for sure. [:D]
you have never seen hateful crowds watching boats being unloaded and loaded until you are the one on the ramp on opening day of duck season on the public lake. people are vicious[:0] quote:Originally posted by bullshot

No I haven't and I'll say this, I'd much rather face an angry crowd with fishing poles in their hands than the same crowd with shotguns. [:D][:D]
