It is amazing how fast this water is rising. There is a minivan around the corner and maybe a half mile away that was dry yesterday and it is completely submerged now. It might make it to my property tonight. There is some water at the rear of my place from the creek but that creek winds around and crosses the road about 2/10 mile and that is where the real threat is. The pond across the street is overflowing and it has filled the ditch on the other side of the road in front of my house. An airboat was taking folks out today but I am hoping I will be ok. I am the only one left in the neighborhood except for one guy around the corner. Hell if I need to I can swim and walk out but I don?t think it will come to that. I have six gallons of water and enough canned food for a week. There are helicopters flying all over the place. CG Seahawks and Dolphins, USMC Blackhawks and I just now saw one of the giant Chinooks go by. Just another life experience. [8D]

    Stay safe without more rain hopefully the water will start reseeding rather than going up.

    Prayers that things get better. My best friend lost everything in a flood a few years ago.

    He told me he knew he was in trouble when the creek started flowing backwards.

    Back when I was retail we would have an attempted break in every once in a while......the alarm code mess became second nature. No window breaks, no vibration monitors on the walls and no open doors or windows....but the internal laser break meant a mouse or such set the thing off and the police running by to check things out was enough. Its when they really TRIED to get in that made for an interesting ordeal to deal with. I've only had to spend two nights at the store, once because someone busted a hole in one wall and another because someone busted the HUGE glass on the front.....neither time getting in.

    I can't imagine the stress of having a flood to deal with. I'm certain I'd be a total wreck. I'd probably be planted on the roof like that nutty guy in the movie Tremors. I'd probably do myself more harm than good in the long run in that situation.

    I really feel for you Ricci and I hope everything calms down soon and things start drying out and getting back to normal.

    I kid around a bit, but if I can help let me know.
